Since December 2022, liberal nurses have been calling for a revaluation of their actions, better mileage allowance and recognition of hardship at work. The whole profession now says it is forgotten.
Evelyne Cassan, self-employed nurse, visits a patient in Aurillac (Cantal) almost every day. She performs a blood test and an injection, medical procedures that have not been upgraded since 2009. “The gesture itself is 3.84 euros. Plus the travel costs, which are currently 2.50 gross, or 1.25 euros net, so we barely come to 5 euros”she says. “You have to do a lot of volume to sometimes get a salary”observes the nurse.
A 25% drop in purchasing power
Needles, syringes, masks and gloves are his responsibility. In ten years, liberal nurses would have lost 25% of their purchasing power. In Cantal, a hundred of them have created a collective to express their fed up. On the busiest days, Evelyne Cassan can see up to 50 patients. The demand is such that some professionals refuse certain acts, such as washing. At Yvette Klin, a disabled patient, that of the morning and the evening is paid around 7 euros in total to Evelyne, whom she qualifies as “very essential”.
