The bestiary of the Bara-Bahau cave, in Le Bugue

This height of 5 meters of Bara-Bahau cave is at least the one you are currently observing, alongside your guide on site, Stéphanie Maurel, because it was lower in the ceiling at the time when the Magdalenian artists arrived…

They brought out the relief with their grease lamp, playing with shadow and light on the wall, and traced their drawing with flint or finger, the rock being a soft limestone, called “cottage cheese” by André Glory, priest, archaeologist, speleologist and prehistorian, who studied the cave in 1955.
