The season 10 of Best Pastry Chef was launched on October 7th. An anniversary season which welcomes on the one hand Marie Portolano as host in place of Julia Vignali, as well as a handful of new candidates. Among them, there are some that already stand out like Jerome.
This 47-year-old marketing manager has appeared as a formidable pastry chef since the start of the competition, having notably succeeded in winning two technical tests at Mercotte. But Jérôme was forced to realize that one detail, other than his talents behind the stove, holds attention every week, namely his particularly shrill voice.
“After the first show aired, I took a look at the reactions on Twitter. I came across some really nasty comments about my voice, but also about my physique“, he regretted during an interview for West France. Neither one nor two, the candidate of M6 simply decided to close his account. “I was very hurt but I forged myself a shell. Today I still have my Instagram account, but most of the people are kind. They follow me for my cakes and not to criticize me“, he added.
Despite this negative aspect of his participation in the TV program, Jérôme retains only good memories of his experience. An experience that he can now share with his family, he who is happy housekeeper and daddy of two boys aged 16 and 17, every Thursday in the sofa. “They are not pastry fans but they watch the show with me and my partner to please me. Finally … they turn their heads only when I go on the screen“, he confessed with amusement.
