Pointed out for its lackluster environmental record, the fashion industry offers more and more so-called “eco-responsible” clothing.
Credible claim or greenwashing? The team of Protect yourself analyzed the so-called eco-responsible clothing collections of eight major fashion players, in particular with regard to the company’s commitments to the environment, the quantity of clothing offered, the fibers and materials used, the certifications and the type Delivery.
Only Tentree, a Canadian brand whose clothes are sold in several large chains, receives a perfect score. It is followed by Levi’s (WellTread) and Zara (Join Life) (4/5). Simons (Vision), H&M (Conscious) and Gap (Gap for Good) score 3/5 while Ardene (Eco-Conscious) and SHEIN (Eco) bring up the rear with scores of 2/5 and 1/5.
