The bellowing of the deer is an exceptional moment which takes place every year from mid-September to mid-October, particularly in the Château de Chambord area (Loir-et-Cher).
As the afternoon draws to a close, a hoarse cry crosses the Chambord estate (Loir-et-Cher). A deer then appears in the meadow. Not far from there, a dozen people silently observe this phenomenon which only appears once a year in the fall. The bellowing of the deer is a form of courtship display. It is also a way for males to intimidate their rivals, to assert themselves and to mark their territory. A natural rite that captivates nature-loving observers.
At nightfall, visitors find themselves in the trophy room. A nature guide helps them understand the screeching and gives explanations on the life of deer. The best times to hear deer are dawn and dusk. The slab period will continue until mid-October.
