It’s the holidays and what better than to go camping to recharge the batteries! At home, in Loire-Atlantique, there are 144 establishments, and just under 400 in Vendée. In Pornichet, the four-star “Bel Air” campsite welcomes nearly 1,500 holidaymakers each summer. This week, the first campers of the month of July came to put down their suitcases.
Installation in the morning, pool in the afternoon
Sabrina opens wide the doors of her bungalow. On the table, a rice salad and sunscreen. She has just arrived with her husband Yann and their three daughters, Axelle, Juline and Eloane. The small family from Guémené-Penfao is staying here for a week. “Today is installation and verification of the races, summarizes Sabrina. This afternoon, we will go to the swimming pool and discover the campsite.”

In the bungalow next door, it’s rowdy at lunchtime. The family that occupies it comes from Palaiseau, in Essonne, in the Paris region. “There are plenty of activities in the campsite, especially something to occupy the children, rejoices Marie-Agnès, retired, whom everyone affectionately calls “Yaya”. We are very happy that they can get some fresh air and that we are a little quiet.”
A campsite already almost full
The children’s program is clear: beach, swimming pool, petanque. Mattéo, 9 years old, has already released his ball. “We will either play with the parents or find friends here,” he confides.
While the children are already playing outside, the parents continue to unload the trunk of the car. Others have trouble finding a place to park the caravan. It must be said that the campsite is almost full. Adrien Laleine is the director of the establishment, he is happy to see his summer customers again. “We are a very family-friendly campsite, a stone’s throw from the sea. We still have a few reservations left, so don’t hesitate to book your stay, he blurts out, smiling. Hoping that the weather will be good until the end of August”.
Météo France is indeed announcing good weather, at least in the coming days. Temperatures will be around 30 degrees in Pornichet. What to spend a lot of time at the beach, or in the swimming pool of the campsite.
