The teacher recruitment crisis worries, Friday, August 26, just six days before the start of the school year. The new Minister of Education, Pap Ndiaye, announced the organization in the spring of 2023 of an exceptional competition for the tenure of contract workers.
This is the first return to school for the Minister of Education and Youth, Pap Ndiaye. He met, Friday, August 26, contract teachers in training in Vanves (Hauts-de-Seine). To retain them and establish them, the National Education has announced that a competition will be open to them from the spring of 2023.
“It’s an exceptional competition, with terms that differ from the ordinary competition”, said Pap Ndiaye. These emergency measures raise questions for some parents of students. “What worries us today is more than to carry out the promise that the Minister made in June, to put a teacher in front of each class, we are going to look for contract workers who do not have the skills to be teacher”, deplores Éric Labastie, general secretary of the FCPE. From September, the basic salary at the start of the incumbents’ career will be increased to 2,000 euros net per month.
