the bees of Bourg-de-Péage affirm their ambitions for the next season

The Bourg-de-Péage Drôme Handball players returned to training on Monday 18 July. After a difficult previous season due to the club’s financial situation of the Women’s League, Bourg-de-Péage wants above all pay off the debt. “We’ve already started doing that.” according to Grégory Anquetil, n°2 of the club. “If all goes well by next year, once everything has been paid for, the Bourg-de-Péage club will have a budget of just over 2.3 million euros to play in the first division. If our forecast is good, next February or March, the debt will be purged” which means that the Bourg-de-Péage club will be able to recruit very high level players adds the former international.

But the management of the club reassures: “The players who did not jump ship during the crisis that the club went through last year will not be forgotten”.

“This year we are going to eat our black bread”

But for the next season”recruitment will be modest warns” Camille Compte, the main trainer of the bees. “We are asked to save 250,000 euros over the season so we have much less means” warn the trainer. He explains that “the club is currently looking to recruit at least one or two seasoned players to solidify the back lines”. But the squad for next season is very young and very restricted. Few players to rotate over the matches. The consequence explains Camille Compte “will be seen in the results”. “vsThis year we will lose more matches than we will win. A year where we will eat our black bread. The values that we are going to work on now are in particular that of resistance. Last year was the year of leadership.”
