The Beach Boys on Disney+ | The Beach Boys featured in documentary

The Californian group The Beach Boys, who left their mark on American music in the 60s and 70s, will be the subject of a documentary, Disney+ announced on Tuesday.


To unveil this project on social networks, the platform used the words of their success Wouldn’t It Be Nice. “Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a documentary about the Beach Boys,” reads the Disney+ X account.

In a press release, the documentary, simply named The Beach Boysis described as “a celebration of the legendary band that revolutionized pop music.”

In particular, we will hear new interviews with the members of this group which has long “personified the Californian dream”, namely Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston. Former members also participate in the project.

Directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, The Beach Boys will be available from May 24 on Disney+. A soundtrack will be released at the same time.

Until then, their fans will be able to delve into their memories thanks to the release this week of a collector’s edition of their 1964 album Shut Down Vol. 2. The group will also launch a book entitled The Beach Boys by the Beach Boys April 2nd.
