A major challenge in the November 5 election is that candidates must convince the undecided in the “swing states,” the politically divided states that could swing the election.

The landscapes paint the picture of rural America, with cornfields and typical farms. But in the state of Wisconsin, the electoral battle is raging. Three farmers met by the France Télévisions teams enthusiastically welcomed the entry into the campaign of Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s vice-president. “Having a candidate in good shape who seems like she can lead the country and look to the future is very exciting.”confides one of them.

In Wisconsin, in 2020, Joe Biden won by just 20,000 votes. So to convince undecided voters, several times a week, a Democratic Party volunteer travels through the city’s different neighborhoods. Her strategy is to occupy the field directly in homes, talking about Kamala Harris as regularly as possible, like in a small knitting club for example. But in the state, a large portion of voters say they don’t belong to any party. They can vote Democrat or Republican, depending on the election.
