Baptiste is from Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Anatole is from the Paris region but fell in love with the Basque Country. The duo forms “De grands enfants” which mixes both French variety but also other musical universes such as reggae or urban. The two men have known each other since childhood, created their first group at 18 with whom they sang covers of Goldman, Tryo and Cabrel on the terraces of the Basque coast.
Over the course of experiences, group changes, Baptiste and Anatole did not let go and continued to give concerts in the Basque Country but also internationally. They went to England, Ireland but also to India and Vietnam.
Big kids, a duo that is only 2 years old
The latest creation of the two boys has matured during the long months of confinement and anxiety that have accompanied us in 2020. “Big kids” was born with videos on YouTube, on social networks and with an idea in mind to make simple things, doing “what we are”! The group also benefited from a notoriety boost thanks to Nagui’s “The Artist” program, broadcast last September on France 2. A program that highlighted authors, composers and performers. An enriching experience which notably allowed them to meet their new artistic director.
everything to defend
The latest single from “Two Big Children” is “Everything to Defend”. A song that recounts the situation in which Baptiste finds himself, evicted from his accommodation in Saint-Jean-de-Luz by property developers. A song co-written with Patxi Garat that raises a real issue in the Basque Country: access to housing. A committed song with the right words. The clip will be released in a few days but the live recorded in the studios of France Bleu is to discover below.
