Aim for victory to continue to believe in it. Second in the Six Nations Tournament, Scotland is still in the title race. If Ireland seems unstoppable with three big victories in as many matches, the XV du Chardon can still hope to lift the trophy which has eluded them since 1999. To do this, Scotland will have to win, Saturday March 9, against Italy, Rome and hope for a defeat for Ireland in England. A Scottish victory against the Italians would put pressure on the Clover XV.
Currently bottom of the table, the Italians have their backs against the wall with two defeats and a draw against the Blues. The Squadra Azzurra will thus aim for a first victory in the Tournament since March 19, 2022 and its success against Wales (22-21). For this penultimate match of the Tournament, Italy coach Gonzalo Quesada started winger Louis Lynagh, eldest son of Australian rugby legend Michael Lynagh, for the first time in an attempt to reverse the trend.
