The Avalanche wins 4-3 against the Blues

(St. Louis) JT Compher scored two goals, guiding the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night.

Nazem Kadri and Cale Makar also hit the mark for the Avalanche, which inflicted a first setback this season on the Blues.

Darcy Kuemper hasn’t had a very busy night, giving in three times in 18 shots for the Avalanche.

Vladimir Tarasenko, Brayden Schenn and Colton Parayko replied for the Blues, who had won their first five outings this season.

Jordan Binnington made 38 saves and also received a 10-minute misconduct penalty late in the second period.

Avalanche rookie forward Sampo Ranta thought he had scored his first career NHL goal, but the Blues requested a replay and it confirmed it was offside entering the zone.
