Kadri and Rantanen had one goal and two assists each while Cale Makar and Gabriel Landeskog completed the scoring for the Avalanche, who scored three of their four power-play goals.

Tucker Poolman had a goal and an assist for the Canucks while Conor Garland threaded the needle on one occasion.

Darcy Keumper stopped 30 of 32 shots aimed at him for the Avalanche. Thatcher Demko made 26 saves for the BC roster.

It was the fifth straight loss for the Canucks, returning from a disastrous three-game road trip in which they were outscored 19-6 in goals.

The Canucks pulled out Demko with an extra player late in the third period, but Landeskog drove the last nail in their coffin with 10 seconds to go.
