François Hollande, Socialist Party (PS) deputy from Corrèze and former President of the Republic, is the guest of 20 Heures, Tuesday October 1st. He returns in particular to the Prime Minister’s general policy speech to the National Assembly and to the upcoming vote on the budget.

The Prime Minister, Michel Barnier, delivered his general policy speech to the National Assembly on Tuesday, October 1. “Michel Barnier is an honest man and he tried to present as best he could a policy which is aimed at a very composite majority. And therefore, he sent very contradictory signals, and to the right wing, even to the ‘extreme right, and its partners from the old majority’analyzes François Hollande, Socialist Party (PS) deputy from Corrèze and former President of the Republic, on the set of 20 Hours. “It is these contradictions which mean that we do not know much today about what he will do tomorrow, beyond general intentions”he adds.

After this speech, does François Hollande intend to vote for censure? “If the censure must be voted on – it is next week – it is not so much in relation to what was announced (…), it is because the very conditions of his appointment are questionable”believes François Hollande. “Now, what will be interesting is the budget: what taxes will it really increase, what expenses will it reduce? And there, I believe that the attitude of socialists, it must be to vote for everything that goes in the right direction of fiscal justice, to make proposals to try to improve things and to contest choices if they go in the direction, unfortunately, of tax justice. ‘austerity”indicates the former head of state.
