the astonishing confession of Michel Drucker after having been close to death recently

In September 2020, Michel Drucker underwent open heart surgery and triple bypass surgery. If this heavy intervention went well, the facilitator had unfortunately suffered from an infection afterwards.

“The bacteria, apparently not too bad, infected the heart and caused sepsis with a germ that had affected the mitral valve but also the spleen and the kidney […] Unfortunately, this bacterium also affected the artery of the right leg, which could have been amputated. We managed to unclog it, but the valve was still infected. The surgeon then said to me: ‘We can’t wait any longer'” explained the host who therefore almost lost a leg.

Two years after this visit to the hospital, the host is back on stage with his show From you to me and has taken over the reins of his show “Vivement dimanche” on France 2. In a new interview with Ciné Télé Revue , he confides in his state of health. “I do one hour of sport a day: 200 abs in the morning, rowing machine, 15 km of bike-cardio” he explained. “It is thanks to this iron discipline, which I already had before, that I got out of it. If I had had 20 kilos more, I would die on the operating table” he then added.

Asked about his return to the stage, Michel Drucker expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m happy! I had only played the show four times before the Covid, then there were my health problems”, he said, specifying that it was a “new show , rewritten at 50%”: “I let go more. I included my time in the hospital. I was not going to pretend that nothing had happened when the public knows that I am a survivor .”.
