Restaurants in the heart of Puy-de-Dôme launch a new call. The association needs volunteers for its annual collection on March 4, 5 and 6 next. They will be distributed in around forty supermarkets in the department to recover food and hygiene products. Around 600 people have already been mobilized, but there are still a shortage.
Recruitment in times of health crisis
In recent months, the association has been understaffed. Some volunteers have given up due to the health crisis. It therefore went from 800 to 600 volunteers but “we feel a tremor” underlines Bruno Riche, the president of the Restos du Coeur du Puy-de-Dôme. 15 people pushed the door recently.
For this specific operation, the association needs 200 volunteers for Friday and Saturday, 50 for Sunday.

Didier Mazuel mobilizes every year. For him, this operation is not only useful, it is also rewarding: _“This is where we see the impact of the Restos_. We meet people who tell us “at one point in my life, I needed you, I found you, and now I want to help others”. We really meet amazing people.”
130 tonnes of foodstuffs and hygiene products to be collected in one weekend, that’s “a strong challenge” recalls Bruno Riche.
