Two days after the knife attack in Annecy, the suspect was brought before an investigating judge. Journalist Claire Vérove takes stock while waiting for the press conference of the public prosecutor.
The press conference of the public prosecutor of Annecy (Haute-Savoie), after the attack which left six victims including four children, is imminent. “The press conference was delayed, about 1 hour, because we are still waiting for the decision of the judge of freedoms with a view to provisional detention or not.“, explains journalist Claire Vérove. The suspect, Abdalmasih H., was released from police custody and was brought on the morning of Saturday June 10 to be brought before an investigating judge, “very weak, in a wheelchair“.
A mute and agitated suspect
The 48 hours of police custody were also trying for the investigators: “THE suspect remained agitated, mute, he could not be interviewed“, says Claire Vérove. The prosecution did not retain “no apparent terrorist motive, and the national anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office did not take action.“
