A huge ephemeral fresco can be discovered on one of the slopes of the Ballon d’Alsace. The artist Saype took up a real challenge to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the territory of Belfort. On the grass, he methodically and patiently painted a drawing of almost 5,000 square meters.

On the floor, it’s hard to make out anything. Sufficient all the same, to surprise walkers. The artist Saype made his latest creation on a slope of the Ballon d’Alsace (Territoire de Belfort). For the work to reveal itself, it is simply necessary to take a little height. The opportunity to discover a life-size canvas of 5,000 square meters. It took him dozens of hours to paint, on site. The huge fresco is a tribute to the centenary of the Territoire de Belfort.

“I wanted to represent a kid who plays with different symbols. We will find the train and the TGV for Alstom, we find the Adrian helmet, a helmet built in the factories in Beaucourt (Territoire de Belfort) for the First World War, we find the lion of Belfort, a musical instrument, which reminds us of a huge cultural scene at the musical level”, Saype lists. It took the artist and his teams a year to imagine the fresco. From design to production, he left nothing to chance, in order to obtain a perfect final photo.
