The 15-year-old teenager sought after the discovery of two charred bodies in the rubble of the family home in Châteauvilain (Isère), finally arrested in Montpellier (Hérault), admitted in police custody to having killed his two parents, announced the Grenoble prosecutor’s office, Sunday December 3.
“I confirm that young Valentin confessed to the police to being the author of the murder of his parents”declared Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant in a brief press release.
The two bodies discovered on November 26 could not be formally identified. But the autopsy established that they were “probably those of a man and a woman, each presenting gunshot wounds to the skull and, for one, to the thorax”, explained the Bourgoin-Jallieu prosecutor. The prosecution had opened a judicial investigation for “assassinations” and “destruction by fire”.
The burned house usually housed three people: a 58-year-old engineer, a 52-year-old woman who worked from home, and their 15-year-old younger son. A call for witnesses was launched on Thursday to find the latter, arrested in Montpellier on Saturday.
