“We are relieved. This gentleman, in the videos, did not have a shaking hand, it was prepared, timed”she continues. “We were very lucky that he got the time wrong because it would have been carnage.”estimates Perla Danan. At the time of the events, only five people were in the synagogue. There were no injuries, with the exception of a municipal police officer who was hit by “the blast” of the explosion.
The president of CRIF Occitanie fears that other attacks of this type will occur again but assures that everything is in place to strengthen the security of the Jewish community in France.
“It is not possible to say that, because we are Jewish in France, we must withdraw.”

She denounces “the import” And “instrumentalization” of the conflict between Hamas and Israel in the Middle East, which is the cause – according to her – of the explosion of anti-Semitic acts since October 7. “We have here the result of the excessive words of certain political parties who have exploited the conflict, it is murderous for the Republic and for our values and it is even more murderous for the Jewish community”she concluded.
