The Armada sacrifices Miguël Tourigny | The Journal of Montreal

The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada traded star player Miguël Tourigny on Thursday, securing four draft picks from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

The Laurentian squad of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) received second round selections for 2023 and 2024. There are also third and fourth round picks in 2024.

Tourigny, a defenseman, has 40 points, including 19 goals, in 30 games with the Armada this season. He was in his fourth campaign with the Blainville-Boisbriand club.

With a record of 15-12-3, the Armada has not yet had a disastrous season. In the case of the Titan (15-11-3), everything suggests that this team is trying the big deal. Before acquiring Tourigny on Thursday, the Titan got their hands on striker Félix Lafrance, of the Saguenéens de Chicoutimi, earlier this week. If Lafrance is the best scorer in the QMJHL, Tourigny comes for his part at the top among the defenders of the Courteau circuit.
