Météo-France has placed two new departments on orange alert for risks of thunderstorms from 3 p.m. on Monday, July 15. Ardennes and Marne thus join the 22 departments already placed on orange alert.

These are Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Haute-Loire, Loire, Rhône, Ain, Aube, Côte-d’Or, Doubs, Jura, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Nièvre, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Vosges, Yonne and the Territoire de Belfort.

“A rain and storm front is sweeping across a large north-eastern third of the country from this Monday afternoon, particularly active in the departments placed on orange alert,” explains the meteorological institute, which adds: “The storm situation requires special attention as there is a significant risk of violent phenomena.”
