Breakdancing, what is it?

A dance style that developed in the United States in the 1970s in neighborhood parties in the Bronx, breaking comes from hip-hop culture and is characterized by an acrobatic dimension, figures on the ground as well as by the major role played by the DJ and the MC (master of ceremonies) during the famous battles.

What will the Olympic breakdance trials look like?

During the Paris 2024 Games, the breaking competition will consist of two events, one male and one female, which will respectively see 16 B-Boys and 16 B-Girls compete in spectacular battles.

It’s total improvisation because the DJ throws music at random and we have to dance while remaining original and fluid, without repeating ourselves. Willy Hem
