the anti-pass rest their plate on the cathedral of Périgueux

It had been withdrawn last January, they decided to rest her. This Saturday morning, members of the NoPass24 anti-vaccination pass collective installed the plaque with the words “high place of resistance” on the gates of the Saint-Front cathedral in Périgueux, in front of the place where activists went on strike. hunger. This same plate had already been installed on the gates in front of the square on January 8th. It had been withdrawn a few weeks later by the prefecture.

“It’s not provocation, it’s symbolic”

The collective affixed the sign to the grid this Saturday morning, the day of the demonstration. “We put it back for the start of the resistance march. Eight people left Périgueux this morning, they will walk to the Vercors”, explains Francis, a member of the collective. In the fall, he had participated in the hunger strike against the health pass and the vaccination obligation. “We are not fooled, we know that it will soon be withdrawn. But it is not at all provocation, it is symbolic. It was still a resistance of 46 days”, he adds. Father Christian Dutreuil, parish priest, refuses to comment. He discovered the plate this morning, and will contact the prefecture to request its removal. The NoPass24 collective is considering “in the long term, to make a real request to affix a plaque that will be installed permanently”.
