The operation to transfer the beluga lost in the Seine will take place on Tuesday August 9 in the afternoon. A substantial operation that will mobilize around sixty people. On site for 12/13, journalist Marc Moiroud-Musillo recounts the details of this rescue.
This is the end of a soap opera that has been going on for several days in Eure, in Vernon. The beluga lost in the Seine has regained its strength after the injections received and will be able to be extracted from the lock in which it is located on Tuesday August 9. “This operation will be long and will mobilize around sixty people”warns Marc Moiroud-Musillo, in duplex for 12/13, Tuesday.
“The beluga will first be extracted from the lock near Vernon where it has been under observation for five days. It will then be transhipped with a crane into a refrigerated truck before being placed in a large box where it will be kept humid. […] He will then spend some time in a pool of seawater where he will undergo numerous tests. The objective is to understand why the animal stopped eating, long before it got lost in the Seine., explains the journalist. A process that is not without risk for an already weakened animal.
