The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, placed a bouquet of flowers under the plaque in tribute to the victims of the attacks at the bar Le Carillon and at the restaurant Le Petit Cambodge, Saturday, November 13, on the occasion of the commemorations of the attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris. Earlier in the morning, the two establishments had been visited by the French Prime Minister, Jean Castex, and the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, who came to meditate six years after the Islamist attacks which left 130 dead in Saint- Denis and in the capital.

The American vice-president came to seal Franco-American reconciliation during a four-day visit to Paris. Relations between Paris and Washington were strained in mid-September after the submarine crisis. “It has been a very productive trip. We now have a lot of follow-up work ahead of us.”, assured Kamala Harris, who spoke with Emmanuel Macron during his stay. She added that partnership between the United States and France “stay and will stay very strong”, before joining Orly airport to fly to Washington.
