Two days after the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, Emmanuel Macron and Joe Biden meet for a day of state visit by the American president, Saturday June 8, in Paris. The two heads of state attended the rendition of the American anthem The Star Spangled Banner, followed by The Marseillaise, by the Republican Guard orchestra. Then, under the Arc de Triomphe, they laid a wreath and together rekindled the flame of the Unknown Soldier, before which they observed a minute of silence.
