The Montreal Alouettes will kick off their 2023 Canadian Football League season by hosting the Ottawa Redblacks on Saturday, June 10 at Percival-Molson.
The management of the Alouettes unveiled its schedule of 18 games on Tuesday, at the same time as the other formations of the circuit.
The match against the Rouge et Noir will be the first of four between the two teams during the season.
The Alouettes will face the Toronto Argonauts, defending Gray Cup champions, twice in Montreal and once in the Queen City. In addition, they will make two stops in Hamilton while the Tiger-Cats will play only one match in Montreal, to close the calendar of the two clubs, on October 28.
The Alouettes will also play two games against three clubs from the West Division, namely the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the BC Lions and the Calgary Stampeders. They will also host the Saskatchewan Roughriders on August 11 and will be in Edmonton to face the Elks on October 14.
At home, the Alouettes will play four games on Saturdays, three on Fridays, one on Sunday and one on Monday. As has become a tradition in Montreal, this Monday game will take place on Thanksgiving Day, October 9, against the Rouge et Noir.
As in the past, the Alouettes will play two preparatory games. The first will take place on May 26 in Ottawa and the second on June 2 against Hamilton in Montreal.
The CFL season kicks off Thursday, June 8 with a game between the Lions and the Stampeders in Calgary. The Argonauts will raise their Gray Cup banner on June 18 when the Tiger-Cats visit.
In addition, for the first time since 2008, the section eliminatory matches will be played on Saturdays, starting with the semi-finals on November 4 and the finals on November 11.
The Gray Cup final will be played on Sunday, November 19 in Hamilton.
