After a very calm first quarter, where no points were scored, Jason Maas’ men opened the scoring thanks to a touchdown from Caleb Evans in the second quarter. It was Reggie Begelton who responded for Calgary to equalize.

A David Côté field goal allowed Montreal to return to the locker room with an 11-8 lead.

In the third quarter, defensive back Marc-Antoine Dequoy stood out after making a superb interception in the Alouettes’ end zone on a third down. It was enough to motivate the Montreal players, since Caleb Evans went to score his second touchdown of the match to give his team an 18-8 lead.

At the end of the game, running back William Stanback definitively eliminated any hope of a comeback for Calgary by scoring the last touchdown of the game for Montreal.

With this victory, the Alouettes have a 7-7 record and are behind the Toronto Argonauts in second place in the East Division. The Stampeders suffered a second consecutive setback with this defeat against Montreal. They have a record of four wins and 10 losses.

This victory is also the seventh for the Sparrows against a team with a performance less than or equal to .500. Note that the club has not won this year against a club that has a winning record.

The Alouettes’ next game will take place next week against the Rouge et Noir in Ottawa.
