The Alouettes extend the contract of American defensive back Nafees Lyon

The Montreal Alouettes granted a one-year contract extension to American defensive back Nafees Lyon on Tuesday.

Acquired from the Edmonton Elks in 2022, Lyon only played one game last season due to a knee injury.

“We are very happy to have Nafees with us for another year,” commented Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia.

“Coming out of training camp last year, he was one of our starters on defense. He has worked very hard to recover from his injury and we are very confident that he will have a leading role with us in 2024.”

In 20 games in the Canadian Football League, Lyon had 82 defensive tackles, one sack and four interceptions.
