The Alouettes deprived of Reggie White Jr. and Sean Jamieson for six games

It’s no surprise, but the Montreal Alouettes on Monday placed wide receiver Reggie White Jr. and offensive lineman Sean Jamieson on the six-game injured list.

Both players were injured in the same game, a 24-18 loss to Ottawa in early October. White Jr. and Jamieson had to go under the knife, and that’s why they’re not ready to return to play.

This means that both players will definitely miss the start of the season, since preseason games do not count in this calculation.

The loss of White is particularly painful for the Alouettes, who have gaping holes to fill in the pass receivers. It’s not for nothing that Danny Maciocia invited 22 receivers to training camp.

White caught 53 passes for 722 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games in 2022. Maciocia, who served as head coach last season, used a committee to make up for his loss, including young rookie Tyson Philpot par excellence in the East in 2022.

Jamieson was the starter at center until his injury. David Brown had replaced him for the rest of the season and the playoffs. Justin Lawrence and Rodeen Brown also attend camp at this position. Kristian Matte, a 13-year veteran, has played center before as well.
