Thomassin, a six-foot-six-inch, 330-pound colossus, played two games last season with the Alouettes. The 26-year-old athlete from Quebec has notably worn the Rouget et Or uniform of Laval University in the Quebec university ranks.

Other players to sign with the Birds include American defensive back Prince Smith Jr., American wide receiver Craig Rucker, American offensive lineman Tyler Roemer, and Canadian receiver Ente Eguavoen.

Additionally, the team has come to terms with safety Ethan Makonzo and defensive player Brock Gowanlock. The latter were drafted by the Montreal team in 2021 and 2020 respectively, before taking part in the Alouettes’ training camp in 2021 and possibly playing one last season in the university ranks.
