Vincent Lavandier’s troupe was trying to avenge the loss suffered in the preseason game against the Ontario squad. And she got there in front of 2,452 responsive and committed supporters.
The first quarter resulted in several missed baskets on both sides. The Alliance had a 16-15 lead after ten minutes and the Greek Gaios Skordilis then held half of the points for the Montreal troupe.
For the first time since the start of the season, Vincent Lavandier’s men were leading at halftime, 38-31. They also countered in a good way the former Cleveland Cavaliers Deng Adel, who until then had only accumulated 10 points.
The Blackjacks were quick to close the gap after halftime and the score was tight until the very end. When it came time to apply the rule of Elam, the Alliance was ahead at the count of 77-74. It was Hernst Laroche who scored the final two baskets on free throws to reach the target of 86 and give the victory to his team.
The Montreal team has two wins and one loss in three games when it enters the Canadian Elite Basketball League (LECB).
More details to come.
