Vendée MP Philippe Latombe welcomed the arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the Challans stretcher bearer in the middle of Monday afternoon.

Information confirmed this Tuesday, April 9 by the public prosecutor of Sables-d’Olonne.

“The man implicated in the acts of violence which occurred at the Challans hospital (…) was arrested and taken into custody by the gendarmerie services on April 8, 2024”.

The man, aged 23, “is currently being heard by the gendarmes on the facts”, he “accompanied his father and his cousin to Challans hospital”, explained Gwenaëlle Cotto.

An investigation for “violence against medical personnel” had been opened by the Sables d’Olonne public prosecutor’s office after the violent attack which took place at the Loire Vendée Océan Hospital Center located in the town of Challans in the south of Vendée.
