In the section “An idea for France”, Monday, June 27, Valérie Heurtel presents initiatives that can help people with disabilities. Among them, the all-terrain wheelchair.

Following an accident that deprived him of the use of his legs, Jean-Luc Fumex, a mountain lover, created the FTT, the all-terrain chair. “It’s really happiness, we find the joys of the mountains”testifies Angélique De Sy, owner of FTT. “The need for autonomy is essential for everyone (…) I have many friends who simply, with the Quadrix, go for a walk with their dog”explains Jean-Luc Fumex, designer of Quadrix, co-founder of Mont Blanc Mobility.

He created a company, 15 years ago, which manufactures a hundred FTT per year. A model can cost between 5,000 and 14,000 euros and each chair is suitable for one person. During the summer, it is possible to become a guide for people with reduced mobility by becoming a volunteer with APF France Handicap, recalls Valérie Heurtel, present on the 13 Hours set, Monday June 27. Another possibility: to become “voice giver”recording books for the visually impaired.
