In a press release, published on March 31 on his Twitter accountthe Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced that it had “lodged an official appeal with the International Federation (FIFA)” regarding “an arbitration that distorted the result of the return match between Algeria and Cameroon“. The FAF specifies being “determined to activate all the means permitted by law to restore its rights and replay the match, under conditions guaranteeing the integrity and impartiality of the arbitration“. Finally, the Federation concludes by asking “the opening of an investigation to shed light“on the arbitration errors put forward by Algeria at their expense.
