After three months of low season on the Normandy coast, vacationers are back. Report in Seine-Maritime.
Final preparations in Bertheauville (Seine-Maritime), Saturday February 10, before the holidays arrive. “It is a point of honor that it is always the best possible, the best prepared”, assures Colette Bekaert, owner of a guest house. Nestled in the heart of a seven-hectare estate, the Domaine de Bertheauville seduces tourists. “We are 2.5 hours from the gates of Paris, so people come to disconnect with the greenery, the seaside”analyzes Angéline Pannecoucke, the reservations manager.
Vacationers from Île-de-France eagerly awaited
Vacationers from Île-de-France are eagerly awaited on the Alabaster Coast. “It’s about 30%, (…) our first French clientele”, specifies Francelina Ferreira Leal, promotion manager at the Côte d’Albâtre tourist office in Saint-Valéry-en-Caux (Seine-Maritime). The arrival of Ile-de-France tourists officially launches the year 2024. After three months of low season, the winter holidays are an opportunity to revive economic activity on the Normandy coasts. The Alabaster Coast is the Normandy territory having recorded the most tourist reservations in 2023.
