The plane, which has been immobilized since Thursday, December 21 at Vatry airport, in Marne, took off on Monday, December 25 around 2:30 p.m. for Bombay, a journalist from France Bleu Champagne-Ardenne observed on site. The plane had been immobilized due to suspicions of human trafficking.
The plane took off again with 276 passengers on board. Twenty-five others remained in France, some wishing to apply for asylum, Didier Leschi, director of the French Office of Immigration and Integration, told franceinfo.
Two of the 303 passengers were presented to a judge on the morning of Monday December 25. The Paris prosecutor’s office requested their placement in pre-trial detention. A judicial investigation into aiding the illegal entry and stay of foreigners in the territory in organized gangs and participation in a criminal association was opened by the National Jurisdiction for the Fight against Organized Crime (Junalco).
