It’s a turnaround. The Grand Dax agglomeration community votes this Wednesday, February 16 evening in a large majority, yes to the co-financing of the major LGV project in the South-West. This Bordeaux-Toulouse and Bordeaux-Dax high-speed line project. Grand Dax will provide support of 12.8 million euros, spread over 40 years. In detail, here are the results of the vote: 46 for, 10 against and no abstentions.
“It’s a great satisfaction”, rejoices the President of Grand Dax Julien Dubois. “The community advisers have noted by a very large majority that we have been heard that we can emerge a winner from these discussions. We have had written assurances from Prime Minister Jean Castex, and from the President of the region Alain Rousset on the fact that the station of Dax would become a high-speed hub for the years to come. We also had assurances that the works would be carried out simultaneously between Toulouse and Bordeaux and Bordeaux and Spain. We lacked assurances from a financial point of view, c This is what the community of communes MACS has brought with its contribution to the financing. So Grand Dax can participate in this structuring project for the territory.”
In front of the headquarters of the urban community, an anti-LGV demonstration took place with about fifty demonstrators for whom this project would notably produce an ecological disaster. Last December, Grand Dax voted against the co-financing of the LGV project in the South-West, considering at the time that the conditions were not met.
