The administrative court of Nîmes annulled the order of the prefect of Gard which prohibited the holding of the Dieudonné show scheduled for Friday at 8 p.m., reports France Bleu Gard Lozère. The Gard prefecture will also have to pay 1,200 euros to the controversial comedian.
The prefect feared a disturbance to public order
The prefect had banned Thursday the performance of Dieudonné in Saint-Gilles, about twenty kilometers from Arles (Bouches-du-Rhônes), estimating that the event would cause a risk of disturbance to public order and security . He notably questioned the organization “quasi-clandestine” of the show, the location of which had to be communicated by SMS, just a few hours before it took place.
The one-man show, entitled Under bracelet: an extraordinary spectaclehas already been banned in Bordeaux, Toulouse, Montpellier, Lyon, and near Colmar.
