She has starred alongside a number of stars and filmed under the direction of the greatest directors, from Federico Fellini to Claude Lelouch via Robert Altman; Philippe de Broca, Jacques Becker and even Jacques Demy. Anouk Aimée died on Tuesday at the age of 92. Here she is in five of her most famous films.

1 “A Man and a Woman” (1966)

Anouk Aimée and Jean-Louis Trintignant, the charm of one of the legendary couples of cinema. Claude Lelouch brought them together in 1966. Two inconsolable widowers for a passionate and romantic love. The music of Francis Lai and Pierre Barouh, the Palme d’Or in 1966, a Ford Mustang on the beach at Deauville, a telephone number, Montmatre 15 40. And so A man and a woman becomes a cult film.

2 “The most beautiful years of a life” (2019)

Claude Lelouch brought his two actors together once again in 1986 for A man and a woman: twenty years already. In 2019, he invited them again to tour together. 5 “Eight and a Half” (1963)
