Fans of the “Plus belle la vie” series will not have been able to say goodbye to their national Roland. The funeral of Michel Cordes, found dead by firearm at his home in Hérault on May 5 at the age of 77, took place as discreetly as possible this Wednesday, May 17 in the middle of the morning, according to information collected by the local media Midi-Libre. The interpreter of Roland Marci was buried in the funeral complex of Grammont, in Montpellier, in “the strictest family intimacy” relate our colleagues.
Thus, the actors who had shared countless scenes with Michel Cordes for more than eighteen years were therefore probably left behind by the close entourage of the deceased. The privileged trail of amorous suicide
Found shot dead near his house in Grabels in the Montpellier suburbs, Michel Cordes, 77, had played Roland Marci in Plus belle la vie between 2004 and 2022. When the series was discontinued, he had declared that he aspired to enjoy his retirement with his new partner, a young retiree too. But according to various media, the couple separated a few weeks before the tragedy.
An investigation was opened to determine the exact circumstances of the death, and an autopsy, the report of which is unknown at this stage, was carried out. The trail of suicide was however strongly favored by the investigators, since three handwritten letters, written by the hand of Michel Cordes, for his daughter, for the tax administration and for the gendarmes, were found on the coffee table.
