The actor Jacques Lussier has passed away

The actor Jacques Lussier died two weeks ago at the age of 64, said the Union of Artists (UDA) Duty. He left his mark on the small Quebec screen by playing roles in cult series like Caleb’s Daughters, Scoop Or Cormorant.

“We are saddened to learn of the death of actor Jacques Lussier,” the UDA wrote last Tuesday on social networks. By offering its condolences to the family of the deceased, the union highlighted Mr. Lussier’s contribution to local television.

Apart from his emblematic role of Inspector Henri Douville in Caleb’s Daughtershe starred in multiple shows like The negotiator, The Machos Or Under the sign of the lion. More recently, we could see him interpret the cleaning man Mathieu Delisle, in the second season of the detective series Reasonable doubt.

The one who graduated from the Montreal Conservatory of Dramatic Art also played many characters in the theater. Jacques Lussier notably played Démetrius in the play Dream of a summer night (1988), which was directed by Robert Lepage. He also played the role of Bémont in the work Mr. Schutz’s fins (1992), under the direction of Denise Filiatrault.

During his career, Mr. Lussier also distinguished himself in cinema, among others with the films intimate power (1986) by Yves Simoneau and Gray owl (1999) by Richard Attenborough.
