the actor is well and truly preparing for his end of life!

After having sold his cellar of grands crus, a collection of Bugatti bronzes, his watches, or even his collector’s weapons, Alain Delon moves on to works of art. Indeed, the 87-year-old actor has decided to put 81 works of art on sale, most of them from the 19th century, as announced by La Bonhams-Cornette de Saint Cyr auction house this Tuesday, April 4.

A collection which, if it finds a taker in its entirety, could bring him big as noted by our colleagues from France Info. Indeed, it is estimated between 4 and 5 million euros. Paintings, sculptures, or even drawings from the Italian Renaissance, including a work by Veronese, make up the said collection. Auctioneer Arnaud Cornette de Saint Cyr, for his part, gave the name of the work that could sell for the highest price: “The beach of Sainte-Adresse, 1906”, an oil on canvas by Raoul Dufy, estimated between 600,000 and 800,000 euros. But also “Arabian horse tied to a stake” by Eugène Delacroix from 1825, estimated “between 400,000 to 600,000 euros” always according to Arnaud Cornette.

Alain Delon prepares the after

But why did Alain Delon separate himself from this collection? Should Nathalie’s ex-companion pay off debts? Or does he rely on the money raised to embark on new projects? No information on this side at this time. On the other hand, the father of Anthony Delon had already given a reason for this choice in 2007.

At that time he had “scattered modern works”as recalled France Info. And justified himself to the World “that he preferred to settle it now” because of his “hate” posthumous sales. “As I worked a lot, all my money went into old drawings. Some people buy cars, go to whores, I prefer paintings. I bought out of passion, never for investment”, he added. One less worry for his family when he finally leaves? It is in any case what seems to wish Alain Delon.
