The first trailer for the series The Acolyte was revealed Tuesday morning. The action takes place at the end of the High Republic era; the golden age of the Jedi Order, a hundred years before the events of The Phantom Menace.
Leslye Headland’s story (Russian Doll) follows Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae, a highly respected Korean actor who became internationally known for his role in Squid Game) and his former Padawan Mae (Amandla Stenberg, discovered in The Hunger Games) who find themselves following a series of crimes. An investigation by different Jedi will lead to the discovery of dark threats.
Also in the cast are Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and Carrie-Anne Moss.
The first two episodes, of eight, will be released on Disney+ on June 4.
