The A13 motorway will remain closed between Paris and Vaucresson (Hauts-de-Seine) until Monday inclusive, in both directions, indicates the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture on Friday April 19 evening. An 80 cm deep crack was discovered in some places. Traffic has been interrupted since Thursday 11 p.m., due to a “ground movement” the causes of which are currently unknown. The decision to reopen or not the highway will be taken on Monday, specifies the prefecture.

A movement of the ground causing cracks

The crack was discovered during the night of Thursday to Friday during a scheduled closure of the highway for works. This is a transverse crack which “runs along the end of the insertion ramp and crosses the A13 towards Saint-Cloud park, with a depth of 50 to 80 cm depending on the location”specifies the prefecture in a press release.

“This situation is the result of a ground movement, the causes of which are currently being diagnosed. It also caused cracks in a sewerage structure located 4 meters deep under the motorway,” adds the press release. In Saint-Cloud, avenue de la grille d’Honneur and the park are also closed to vehicles until Monday inclusive.

Diversion routes

Diversion routes are offered. To reach Paris from Rocquencourt, you must take the A12 and the N12 towards Versailles, then towards Paris via Porte de Saint-Cloud (N118). To reach Paris from Bois d’Arcy, you must take the N12 towards Versailles then towards Paris via Porte de Saint-Cloud (N118). All users are also strongly advised to avoid the impacted sector and take alternative routes as far upstream as possible (A15 or A86).

There “Monitoring is ongoing and will continue until Monday April 22 to allow a first progress update”specifies the prefecture. “Depending on the results of this monitoring, a reopening of the A13 could be considered during next week. Information will be communicated on Monday April 22 at the end of the day on the evolution of the situation.”
