The A1 cut off at Phalempin in the Lille-Paris direction

Traffic has been completely interrupted since noon on the A1 motorway in the Lille to Paris direction following an accident at Phalempin, at the entrance to the service area. Two trucks, a van and a car are involved. There are six kilometers of traffic jam upstream of the accident site. Traffic is also greatly slowed down in the other direction, following a curiosity effect. There are currently 7 kilometers of slowdown in the Paris to Lille direction upstream of the accident.

It is strongly advised to take alternative routes to avoid getting stuck upstream of the traffic jam:

  • Via the A23, direction Valenciennes then the A2 direction Paris to join the A1
  • From the A25: direction N41 towards La Bassée, then N47 towards Lens, then A21 towards Paris to join the A1
