Work started in 2017, then stopped twice … new Ravet car park is coming to an end and the parking lot will be available to customers mid-November. With seven floors open to the outside and close to 480 parking spaces, the objective of Q-Park is to facilitate the parking of Chambériens.
Impossible to miss the imposing curvaceous building at the entrance to theavenue des Ducs de Savoie in Chambéry. According to Michèle Salvadoretti, general manager of Q-Park, everything has been designed to be practical for customers. “No poles between the parking spaces, herringbone spaces, an uphill street 15 meters wide open to the outside, with a rapid descent spinner to facilitate exit“, details the director.
The car park also includes a bicycle garage and electric vehicle recharges. To park, you will have to pay 1.40 euros per hour. Several packages also exist, with around fifty euros for a monthly subscription.
Less parking problems in the city center?
For Thierry Delmas, the director of the car park construction company, the 474 spaces should relieve the parking lot in Chambéry a little. “At the entrance to the city, very close to the hyper-center, the parking position is strategic. It should make it possible to reduce the number of cars circulating in the city center.”
The opinions of the inhabitants diverge on the subject. “Frankly, it’s horrible, it spoils the landscape … We don’t even see the Nivolet cross anymore“, regret several residents of the neighborhood. On the contrary for this young girl, the parking lot is”very convenient. I live not even 100 meters from the parking lot, and I never manage to park because there is a college next door and the places are always occupied. Even if I have to pay, it will make my life easier. “Same opinion on the side of this pharmacist:”Customers will be able to park much more easily in the neighborhood … On the other hand, I hope that the entrance to the parking lot will not cause traffic jams in the morning!”
