The 40th edition of Operation Red Nose launched Friday

(Quebec) Operation Red Nose volunteers will be on the roads starting Friday evening to offer impaired motorists a safe return home, in their own automobile, after a festive evening.

The 40e edition of Operation Red Nose will take place until December 31 inclusive.

This year, Operation Red Nose will be in service in nearly fifty regions across Quebec. Comedian and host Dany Turcotte is the spokesperson for this campaign.

Those responsible for Operation Red Nose say that since its beginnings in 1984, some 1.6 million volunteers, in total, have carried out more than 2.4 million rides in Canada. And since its beginnings, Operation Red Nose has redistributed 35 million to local organizations linked to youth.

The money is collected in particular from people who use the escort service and who pay a sum of money in return.

Operation Red Nose invites the population to become a volunteer or to call 1 866 DESJARDINS for assistance.
